Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your use of truefooty.com.au and everything on it (the "site"). By using the site, creating an account or purchasing a membership you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. About True Footy

True Footy is an independent AFL fan site: analysis, opinion, fan games and community discussion. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Australian Football League, any AFL club or any player. Player and club names appear for the purpose of commentary and fan participation. Everything on the site, including ratings, rankings, simulations and predictions, is opinion and entertainment. It is not betting, financial or professional advice.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account, keep your login details secure, and be at least 13 years old (with a parent or guardian's permission if you are under 18). You are responsible for activity on your account. One account per person.

4. Memberships and billing

The site offers a free tier and paid memberships: the Games Only Pass ($6 per month or $50 per year) and the Trade & Draft Pass ($12 per month, with seasonal passes from $22 and an annual option). Prices are in Australian dollars and may change; changes apply from your next billing period and we will give notice of any increase. Paid memberships renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then.

5. Refunds

Because memberships can be cancelled at any time and access continues to the end of the paid period, we do not offer refunds for change of mind or partly used billing periods. If you were charged in error, or something you paid for was genuinely unavailable, email truefootypodcast@gmail.com and we will put it right. Nothing in these terms excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including remedies for services that fail to meet consumer guarantees.

6. Your content

You own the content you post (forum threads, replies, comments) and the selections you submit. By posting or submitting you grant True Footy a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and use that content to operate the site, including in anonymous aggregates such as fan-consensus ratings, leaderboards and consensus teams.

7. Community rules

Keep it in the spirit of footy banter. You must not post content that is abusive, hateful, discriminatory, defamatory, obscene, illegal or that shares someone's private information; impersonate others; spam; or use the forum to advertise. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, at our discretion.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to scrape or bulk-download the site's data, interfere with or overload the site, attempt to access other members' accounts or data, use automated tools to submit ratings or manipulate leaderboards, or resell or redistribute members-only content.

9. Our content

The site's original content, tools, design and code belong to True Footy. You may use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may share screenshots and outputs of the games socially with credit; commercial use requires our permission.

10. Availability and changes

The site and its features may change, break or be discontinued at any time. Games, leaderboards and tools may be reset, rebalanced or retired between seasons. We aim for reliability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

11. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the site is provided as is, and True Footy is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited, at our option, to resupplying the service or refunding the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

12. Termination

You can close your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (your content licence for published aggregates, liability, governing law) survive termination.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date above will change when we do, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
